Isaiah Mamo is an image-maker and multimedia artist based in Richmond, VA. Their work explores themes of mysticism, Queer futurism, and interpersonal narratives. Drawing from a multi-ethnic Christian upbringing, their work often reappropriates religious imagery, stories, and concepts through a Queer lens. Using alternative photography processes-especially long exposure & cyanotype—their work tells stories rooted in alternative subcultures, Queer nightlife, and the communities and spaces they inhabit.⟢

Mamo is currently a 2024-2025 Virginia Mueusum of Fine Art (VMFA) Visual Arts Fellow and Studio Access Resident at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts).
