Blurring the distinction between saint and ancestral veneration, this film combines liturgical recordings and familial archival recordings to create a soundscape rooted in the Yugoslav diaspora in Western Pennsylvania. The film revisits Orthodox spaces of refuge and communion, sites of cultural preservation and resistance to assimilation. The film uses 16mm film and the exposed edges of the negative to construct a portrait of Nicholas as both the Wonderworker and the filmmaker's great-grandfather.
